America's Wild Mustangs Need Help
Every year, over 20,000 wild mustangs—living symbols of the untamed American spirit—are rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management and confined to overcrowded government holding pens. The U.S. Forest Service adds to this tragedy, removing countless more from National Forests to be sold at public auctions. Thousands more are stripped from tribal lands across the West.
Many of these iconic horses—once free, proud, and wild—are funneled into the slaughter pipeline. Shipped across borders to Mexico or Canada, they are sold by the pound and brutally slaughtered for meat. Untrained and misunderstood, wild mustangs are often the first to be discarded, with few willing to give them a chance.
The harsh truth? There are now more mustangs in captivity than there are roaming free. This statistic is a devastating reversal of what these creatures represent: liberty, resilience, and the raw beauty of the American West.
