In February we saved two Reservation mustangs from the Fabrizius Kill Pen in Eaton, CO. They are Yin and Yang! We are so grateful to have saved their lives just in the nick of time! January was a HUGE month! We had some volunteers out to do some very necessary repairs, replacing two gates, one that a transporter took out adding two new gates between pastures, and patching several areas of fencing! Progress was also made on the hay barn, as all of the trusses went up and now we are just waiting on the tin for the roof! Woohoo! December! The last month of 2023…. We DID end the year with a BANG if I do say so myself! In December there were 45 Alpine Wild Horses dumped by Rail Lazy H owner Jackie Hughes herself at the infamous Bowie kill pen in Texas. Immediately after on the following weekend Rail Lazy H hosted an online auction of more Alpine Wild Horses!! This auction was mainly weanlings, with just a few adult horses. November was an incredible month! On top of the memories from November is the announcement of our partnership with the Dogwood Veteran Project. We are working together with them to secure horses for the equine therapy portion of their project which assists veterans with PTSD in healing their traumas and reclaiming their lives. We are working to find willing & suitable mustangs for the project, and in November we brought home the very first one- an Arizona reservation mustang named Sangria!
