Guinivere's Story:
We couldn't let Guinivere's story end with slaughter in November 2025. At the time, we didn't know she was pregnant!
Her face was terribly infected- what looked like a fresh bleeding wound was actually an old festered cut down to her bone. It had halfway healed, then been bashed open during the process of being put through the chutes and shuffled around at the auction.
Her eye was swollen shut due to nasty infection creating thick fluid under her skin. When I first saw her, I assumed that her eye was poked out underneath her swollen shut eyelid and would likely need to be removed.
When we got her home, our vet was able to look inside and luckily her eye was completely healthy! I had never seen anything so gross in my life as when our vet cleared out and flushed her wound and all under her skin, parts of which had started turning soft and dying on her face.
She's got scars... and she might always. But she's healthy, she's happy, she's healing... and most importantly she is free from the slaughter pipeline, FOREVER.
