Some things can never truly be taken away... such as the wild spirit passed from one generation to the next.

Meet Neptune, Mars, Venus, Pluto, Earth and Jupiter. This was when we first saw them waiting in the auction pens to be sold for slaughter:

Most of them were incredibly skinny, but they were clearly pregnant. Seeing their big bellies and knowing they were carrying the next generation... we added them to our list to save right away!!

Thanks to our incredible community, we were able to rescue them all from the slaughter pipeline in December 2025.

These mares are the inspiration for our Wild Blood Tee ❤️

They were supposed to die before ever meeting their babies....

Instead… their foals are now being born safe in sanctuary ❤️

The image featured on this piece captures one of the most bittersweet moments — rescued mares running freely through sanctuary alongside one of the babies who only exists today because people chose to fight for them.

There’s something incredibly powerful about watching these wise wild mares raise the next generation in peace.
