Syra's Story:
Syra ended up dumped in the McLean TX Kill Pen, awaiting slaughter. As an older mare with no training, she was a prime candidate to end up on the truck to Mexico.
However, our incredible donors made it possible for us to save her and offer her a lifetime in sanctuary instead! She is a key member of her band- a group we call the Lucky 10 who were pulled from the McLean lot all together. The bonds they forget at the lot and while in quarantine are so strong, they have all stayed together even after joining our large herd!
Syra is a sweet girl. She will approach and smell your hand, but doesn't wish to be touched. She has very deep, kind eyes and you can tell just how much she revels in having her freedom once again.
