Salt River Colt's Story:
Tristan of the Salt River broke into the reservation that neighbors the Salt River and stole four mares for himself- Kaia, Trista, Nizhoni, and Denali. When Tristan returned to the river after months and months with these mares of his own that he was so proud of, the Forest Service demanded that the mares could not stay on the Salt River since they were not part of the closely managed herd of Salt River Horses that are approved to be on the River.
Salt River Management Group, with the decision of their supporters, opted to remove Tristan along with the mares he worked so hard to gather for himself and give all five of them sanctuary for life here at Nirvana!
Trista gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, and spunky baby boy on February 27th, 2025 at Nirvana! This little cutie is the most adorable foal we've ever seen.
He needs a name! So, we're hoping he will get some sponsors who can pitch in names for this little boy.The first person to FULLY sponsor his life in sanctuary at the gold level can pick his name outright!
