Frances' Story:
Frances was born in 2013 in the wild. She is gentle and does lead, but she has some wonkiness in her back legs as she moves, which has made her unwanted for a riding or using horse and she ended up in the Stroud Oklahoma kill pen.
Frances is a sweet and curious mare- it seems that someone was sweet to her and spent some time with her at some point in the past. She certainly has that distinctive lead mare energy, and is in charge of her group of mare friends (no boys allowed, yet!).
We are extremely glad Frances is here with us, because if she was lucky enough to escape the slaughter pipeline and end up adopted by someone, they would likely throw her right back into the pipeline once they realized her issues with her back end!
She is happy as can be out with one of our herds, grazing her days away and rolling in the sandy spots.
