Ariel's Story:
Ariel was headed for slaughter in January 2026. When we found her she was in the direct ship pen at the auction- meaning she was already sold for slaughter and would not be going through the auction at all.
She was wearing a halter she'd been stuck wearing for years, as indicated by the frays Nylon, faded red coloration, and indention where the halter had been resting on her terrified face.
She was still wild, and far too scared of people. Luckily we were there to see her- if she had been sold to this kill buyer any other time of the month, she would have shipped away to Mexico to the slaughter plant without anyone ever knowing. She would've been gone without a second glance.
We bought her freedom, and after several months in quarantine getting healthy and healing from her trauma...
