Joy's Story:
Joy was rounded up from her wild home by the Bureau of Land Management. She was adopted by someone who put a stud in with the group of mares they adopted so they would be pregnant and heavier and therefore more desirable to the kill buyers who frequent the slaughter pipeline. Joy, along with Noelle, Vixen, and Holly, ended up in the McLean TX Kill Pen, destined to ship to slaughter.
Joy is a very uniquely colored mare who is very sweet natured. She is very curious about people and her big brown eyes are a depth of trust despite all she has been through! We are so grateful that you mustang angels made it possible for us to save her. This entire group of mares was completely overlooked since they are just plain colored horses with no special markings or size to them!
To us, they are even MORE deserving of a life in sanctuary. Joy is very pregnant, and we look forward to greeting her little one any day now 🙏🏻
