In February we saved two Reservation mustangs from the Fabrizius Kill Pen in Eaton, CO. They are Yin and Yang! We are so grateful to have saved their lives just in the nick of time!
We got some snow and captured some of our favorite snow pics YET! Just look how cute Alpine baby Caliber is showing off her tiny teeth.
This one of Mocha and Scarlet is simply the BEST, and is available as a canvas for the walls in your home! To get one, click here.
A HUGE happy moment this month was Rain, our Alpine mare that injured her eye and had to have an enucleation, returned HOME!
On the way home from getting Rain, we also picked up Roxy- a surrender from a REAR, a rescue. She is just not a candidate to be gentled as she has too much trauma built up from prior harsh “training” methods used on her. We made a blog about that journey if you’d like to give it a watch!!
Another big milestone, Primrose, one of our foals born at our sanctuary in 2023 from a rescued pregnant mare allowed scratches from her sponsor Christina! What a BIG moment for both of them!! Up until this point Prim had been very skeptical of much human interaction.
For our second rescue mission of February we rescued Daybreak and Dusk from the Fabrizuis Colorado kill pen. They are quite the dynamic duo! Check out their arrival video 😁
This month, one of our incredible donors sent in beautiful jewelry for us to sell to benefit the Nirvana Herd 🫶🏻
If you’re interested in snagging a piece for yourself or a loved one, you can check out the whole collection here!
Probably the most bittersweet moment of this month was when rescued & reunited Alpine Wild Horses Bear, Swan, and their baby Birdie got to join the Alpine Herd! It is such an incredible joy to give these horses some of their family back whenever possible. NOW- we will surely see the spark & dignity return to Bear’s eyes as he begins to truly THRIVE for the first time since being rounded up!
Thank you all for another INCREDIBLE month!! We look forward to the great things we will accomplish in the next one.
