Help Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary Expand Onto 3,000 Acres of Paradise!

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

We have the most INCREDIBLE opportunity next month to move our sanctuary onto 3,000 acres in beautiful and lush northeast Texas, beginning on October 11th, 2024! This property features ample bermuda grass pastures, ponds that are full year round, creeks running through, cabins for visitors to stay in, 2 hay barns, and lots of infrastructure in place for incredible retreats with the horses and extra special sanctuary events!

We have been planning/working on moving the sanctuary for a year and a half now after realizing we are already outgrowing our current location (which is a GREAT thing as we have so much incredible support like yourself that we have been able to help so many beautiful & deserving horses!!). Moving back to our home state of Texas where the natural resources are abundant and weather is mild is the best choice in order to be able to grow Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary to our ultimate goal- 20,000 acres and a few thousand wild horses, rewilded, safe from slaughter and neglect. Ultimately FREE, as they should be. I know! It seems CRAZY, but stick with me! The only people who change the world are the ones who are bold enough to believe they CAN, right?

The laws surrounding the round ups, removals, and slaughter of American Wild Horses AREN'T changing. Americans have been sending letters, pleading, voting, and protesting for over FIFTY years! It's time we, the people, take matters into our own hands and provide sanctuary for these animals.

After a year and a half of prayers and looking for the perfect opportunity- God has provided this absolute paradise for the horses of Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary! As a contrast to our current location: Grass grows in abundance and doesn't die off when horses eat it, even in the winter! There are natural water sources year round and no water rights to deal with- if we want to add a pond somewhere on the property we CAN! It is extremely easy to build and repair fencing with minimal equipment. Winters are cold, but snow is rare and if it happens it is less than an inch. No mud season means the horses will be able to be blissfully happy year round, not impaired by snow or mud! Summers in Texas don't feel much different than the ninety degree dry heat in the summer at our current location- and the horses will have natural ponds and creeks to take a dip in & cool off, with tall pine trees to avoid the sun completely if they wish! Boy is it cool in the shade too, especially when there is a nice breeze...

This is truly the opportunity of a lifetime to move Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary to such a paradise and having 3,000 acres will be absolutely INCREDIBLE for the Nirvana herd to enjoy and continue to grow in the most natural setting.

It is said that MILLIONS of wild horses used to roam Texas- eyewitness accounts say you could come over a ridge and see nothing but stunning mustangs of every color painting the landscape as far as the eye could see. We aim to bring a little of this history BACK ALIVE for future generations to enjoy in the face of the thousands of mustangs being stripped from their wild homes each year.

As always, our growth won't stop here!! This is still just the beginning for Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary, and this is a golden opportunity we simply cannot miss out on. THIS is the BIGGEST thing to happen for wild horses, and we are SO grateful that you are a part of it!!!

We need YOUR help to pull off this feat and call this incredible property the new home of Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary!

WHAT IS NEEDED?

We need to raise the following funds by October 11th, 2024. I KNOW we can do it! I have seen this incredible Nirvana Family pull off miracles to save just a few horses before- now just IMAGINE how many more we can welcome home to Nirvana's safety and peace with 3,000 acres!

THE NITTY GRITTY: OUR PLAN

Our current herd will start out with 1,000 acres to enjoy, with the Alpine Herd having their own area along with the BLM/Reservation Mustang Herd having their own area. We wish to maintain the story and integrity of the Alpine Wild Horses so we will never mix them with other mustangs!! We need $8,000 to repair fences on the initial 1,000 acres before we can move horses in- the fencing crew is ALREADY out there and starting on the first piece! We will continue repairing existing fences each month in order to expand onto the entire 3,000 acres and allow each herd access to more and more space!

It is imperative to have a secure a separate quarantine area, so we are fundraising for lots of mustang proof panel fencing to create our quarantine area that contains all of the quarantine pens where no other horse can come close to the horses coming in from auctions or kill pens where they are exposed to horrific diseases. We are raising funds for shelters for every single quarantine pen so the horses can get out of the weather while in quarantine! Along with these infrastructure costs, we aim to finally purchase a small feed shed- so that we can stop storing all of our feed, wormer, supplements, and medicines in our trailer tack room and instead have it easily accessible & labeled in order for our volunteers to help care for the horses in quarantine and any of our equine residents needing a little extra care! The last piece of equipment is a Paddock Blade- a cool little device you pull behind the side x side to pick up large amounts of poop. This will allow us to manage manure even in the largest pastures- without having to do it by hand!

We have already found an Alfalfa supplier in the area and will need a semi load of 38 big bales delivered for the horses in quarantine- as ALL horses in our care will still enjoy 24/7 access to quality forage!

This property is located in Douglassville, Texas. We will be in close proximity to both Dallas and Texarkana, so we will now be able to have a wonderful volunteer base which is something that was not accessible to us in the middle of nowhere at our current location. This will extend our capabilities for horses in need and our impact in our surrounding community!

Also on that note- we are setting up the foundation for children, female victims of sexual abuse, and combat veterans equine therapy programs using mustangs who are willing to parter with humans for some incredible healing results! We'll teach the humans how to read horse facial cues & body language, how to regulate their own emotions using the horse as a real-time feedback machine, and how to work with horses in a kind and empathetic way that TRULY results in growth and healing within both human and horse.

Awaiting us in the area is corporate support from a very wonderful group of  powerful people who have the same goal in mind- doing GOOD for mustangs in need and people in the community. There are many more details to come about this partnership in the future but for now this is all that can be said- we are SO excited!

This location also puts us in close proximity to many of the most notorious kill pens and auctions in the entire united states! The Stroud OK Kill Pen, McLean TX Kill Pen, and Kemp TX kill pen are just a few hours away. The Bowie TX and Cleburne TX Auctions are close enough we can go there in person and purchase these unwanted wild mustangs FIRSTHAND before they ever end up in the hands of the kill buyers who frequent these same auctions to stock their kill pens they fill the trucks for slaughter from!

We hope you will consider being a part of this MONUMENTAL MISSION to expand Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary and help us help more wild horses in need today!
