Phoenix's Story:
Phoenix was born to Vixen, a BLM mare who was bred in her adoptive home so that. she would be heavier & more desirable when she got sold into the slaughter pipeline. Phoenix & momma Vixen ended up in the McLean TX Kill Pen- Vixen destined for slaughter and Phoenix separated and sent to auction, alone.
Our original baby Phoenix was a little baby who was born at the McLean TX lot and spent months in the vet hospital with first salmonella that caused sepsis, then pneumonia which lead to the discovery of pyloric ulcers which ultimately resulted in the only option for Phoenix being euthanasia 💔 Since this boy has the shape of a Phoenix on his face, we wanted to call him Phoenix in honor of baby Phoenix that we lost.
