Fortunata's Story:
Fortunata was rounded up from Warm Springs Canyon, Nevada in 2011! She ended up dumped in the McLean TX Kill Pen, awaiting slaughter!
She is a member of the group we call the Lucky 10- 10 souls we pulled from the kill pen at once at the last moment. They are all still together to this day even within our bigger herd! It is clear that Fortunata is the lead mare of the group, and she fulfills this role with a wise intensity. She is an incredible auntie to one of her band member Lucky's filly who was born in summer 2025.
Fortunata prefers to keep her distance from people, and we appreciate observing her stunning big frame and windblown mane from the distance she chooses!
