Please help fund baby Nyx's life saving vet care!
Baby Nyx and momma Penelope were taken to the vet immediately when Nyx started showing signs of lethargy and developed a cough. We're having tests done to figure out exactly what's going on and get little Nyx feeling 100%!
So far, its definite that baby Nyx is anemic and momma Penelope is not producing enough milk to support him due to how malnourished she is! He's receiving fluids, plasma, and milk replacer.
We don't know how long they will be at the vet, and your support is crucial in getting baby Nyx healthy and well!!
UPDATE May 21st:
While all major tests have come back NEGATIVE (yay!) and he is feeling much more lively since receiving fluids and lots and lots of milk replacer, Baby Nyx does have two bilateral scrotal hernias- which will require surgery later this week or early next week to prevent them from leaking and leading to choke and/or colic!
UPDATE June 1st:
Baby Nyx and momma Penelope are HOME!!! They are both doing so much better. We have $1,325 left to raise towards their vet bill.
UPDATE JUNE 24TH:
Baby Nyx needs your help AGAIN!! He was rushed to the vet with a milky eye and lack of vision! The vet thinks his eye was damaged when he was laying around a lot while sick. It’s always had some drainage, but nobody thought it would rupture or turn blind, especially not so suddenly!
At the vet they are administering medicines to the eye every hour on the dot- the hope is that the medicines keep out any bacteria, fungus, or infections to allow it to heal - the only other option was to go ahead and remove his eye.
Nyx is just too young to go that route without trying to save his eye, so we’ve already added another $1,750 to his vet bills towards this intensive treatment and vet stay! This brings us to a total of $5,825 needed to cover all of Nyx's vet expenses thus far. This total will increase if he has to stay longer for his eye!
